Frequently Asked Questions

How Early Should I Arrive For My Massage?

New clients should arrive 10 minutes prior to their massage to fill out paperwork and to meet with their therapist prior to their treatment. Returning clients should arrive 5 minutes prior to their session.

If you do not show up to your appointment within 10 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, your appointment will be canceled and rescheduled. Due to our schedule blocks, we always want to provide you with your full massage experience and have time to speak with you after your session, as well as clean, sanitize, and organize the space for our next client.

Your deposit will be accepted as your No-Show fee and will not be refunded.

What Should I Expect During My First Massage Therapy Visit?

You will be required to fill out a Client Intake Forms. Afterwards, the therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like focus on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and determine if massage is appropriate for you. Your massage therapist may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition. It is important to list all health concerns and medications so that your massage therapist can offer you the best treatment for your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies so that the therapist is aware if he/she needs to use a different oil or lotion during the session.

Do I Have To Be Completely Undressed?

You should dress down to the level you are comfortable with. For overall rejuvenation and maximum benefits of the massage, most clients get completely undressed. You will be draped properly during your session and your private areas will always be covered.

However, if you will be more comfortable during the session leaving your underwear on, that is absolutely ok. The therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as they can.

Your massage therapist will step out of the room to give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table and cover yourself with the sheet and blanket.

Policies and Procedures (cancellations/no-shows)

*** Please keep in mind that we do have a strict 24 hour cancellation/"no show" policy. ***

Illness: If you are sick and need to cancel your appointment under 24 hours, we will not charge you a cancellation fee. We do ask that you reschedule your service.

Schedule adjustments: If you book more than one service and need to cancel one, please do so within 24 hours prior to your appointment. Due to schedule blocks for services, if you need to reschedule and give proper notification, we can make the proper adjustments for other clients to book a service.

Weather: We will not waive the cancellation fee due to weather. If you are not able to make it to your appointment, please contact us at (706)910-3033, so that we may see if it is possible to see you later that day.

If there is inclement weather, an announcement will be posted to our Facebook page at Your Me Time Massage & Bodywork and our IG at Your_Me_Time_Massage, as well as a courtesy text sent to confirm that you would like to reschedule or keep your appointment. Depending on the severity, we could possibly close for your safety and ours.

No-Shows: If you do not show up for your appointment, you will be notified and charged 50% of your booked service. NO EXCEPTIONS! If there are more than 3 no-shows, you will no longer be able to book with us. We value our clients and ask that our time be valued as well. To provide you with an awesome and relaxing experience, we schedule around your sessions as soon as you book your appointment and make sure that things are sanitized and set up at least 30 minutes before you arrive.

Late Policy: Due to our scheduling window and sanitizing procedures prior to our next client, we ask that you be on time for your appointment. You have up to 15 minutes to arrive before your appointment is cancelled. We want to be able to offer you the full service experience during your allotted time frame, but can not allow it to interfere with the next client's experience. We also understand that things come up, and will definitely reschedule for another time that works best for you.

Other guests: Due to our recent COVID and safety concerns, we are limiting guests that are not receiving a service. We keep our facility locked during our sessions to prevent distractions and if your guest needs to leave while waiting, that puts our client's and our therapist's safety in jeopardy. We value you and your safety is ALWAYS top priority.

Thank you for understanding our listed policies and procedures. These policies and procedures help us continue to provide you with the best experience possible. We do our best to take in consideration the value of our clients and our therapists. If you have any questions and concerns, please text (706)910-3033 and we will reach out to you as soon as time permits.

What Is Included In The Session Time?

A session consists of your scheduled massage service, time for you to dress and undress, and time to communicate with your therapist to make your massage truly feel customized. This is done to ensure each and every massage session you receive from Your Me Time Massage meets or exceeds your expectations.

When Should I Not Get A Massage?

There are a few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection. There are many other conditions in which your therapist may need to adapt his/her techniques (i.e., arthritis or osteoporosis) or avoid an area completely (i.e., cuts or burns). With some conditions, it is a good idea to get approval from your physician before you receive massage (cancer, certain heart conditions, pregnancy). This does not mean you cannot get a massage. But it’s always better to be cautious. Your therapist can advise you about your specific needs.

Do not hesitate to call or text us at (706)910-3033 to ask about any health concerns that you might have.

Do I have to listen to spa music during my session?

No. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) You can choose your music or no music at all. Studies have shown that music at under 60 beats-per-minute has a calming, relaxing effect on the body and therefore can enhance your experience. However, while this may be true, any music you like to listen to while you relax can be played while you get a massage. If it relaxes you and you enjoy it at home, why would it not do the same during your treatment? It is perfectly okay to bring your own music with you to your session from home (you can connect your phone to our bluetooth speaker).
